Elemental Humans

A union of vision, light, color, diversity

If you heat the atoms enough, they will emit light. However, if you put their light through a prism, you get discreet lines, so called emission spectra in the visible region. They are characteristic for each element.

For this series, the portraits are overlayed with the emission spectra of each of the displayed elements. The elements chosen make up a large part of what humans and many other life forms are made of.
